Benchmark : SC.A.1.4.3 The student understands that all matter has observable, measurable properties...knows that a change from one phase of matter to another involves a gain or loss of energy.

Objective:

The student will construct a lab dealing with exothermic and endothermic reactions using the GLX probeware. They will then compare the phases/states of matter/specifically water. They will explore the role of water in regulating climate and weather. They will consider a world with and without thermal inertia living as an ectotherm.

Agenda:

Monday & Tuesday
  • PowerPoint Chapter 7a
    • Thermal inertia & Thermal Equilibrium
